At iowahardwoodslabs.com we believe in preserving our natural resources. Unlike most hardwood companies, we proudly make the most of our urban trees by sawing the logs that were bound for burn piles and refused by commercial sawmills. Our task of collecting trees one by one is more time consuming then clear cutting a forest but there is value and responsibility in saving what was otherwise looked at as waste.

Iowahardwoodslabs.com is a specialty hardwood lumber company that understands what you want as a furniture craftsman. Our sawyers take pride in each log maximizing the character and beauty of each slab. Most people are unaware the highest quality furniture is made out of one tree so the wood tones and character are consistent. Our flitch sawn logs typically have multiple thickness available so they are perfect for that family heirloom or American made art.  All of our wood is dried in our two Kilns on site that are running 24/7 to insure your lumber is stable and insect free so that your wood will behave in your shop or home for years to come.

We keep stocked with a variety of domestic wood such as Black Walnut, Ash, Red Oak, White Oak, Honey Locust, Sugar Maple, and so much more. Curly boards, Birdseye, Crotch, and burls are just some of the unique characteristics we specialize in.  We also have stockpiles of very thick lumber such as 16/4 and other wood that aren’t typically found at hardwood stores.
